熱媒加熱系統(tǒng)主要由熱媒加熱爐（有機熱載體爐）、儲油罐、膨脹罐、循環(huán)泵、注油泵、氮封系統(tǒng)、控制系統(tǒng)等組成，且各自分別成撬供貨。

熱媒加熱爐采用三煙道半濕背式設計。熱量通過燃燒器在爐膛內燃燒并以輻射熱和對流換熱的方式傳遞給熱媒，載熱熱媒通過循環(huán)系統(tǒng)運送到熱用戶，在熱用戶換熱卸載后再循環(huán)回到熱媒爐加熱；如此往復以熱媒為載體實現熱量傳遞，膨脹罐、循環(huán)泵及控制系統(tǒng)為系統(tǒng)不可缺少的輔助設備。
